We have several important goals during your child's first visit to our office. First, we want to introduce your child to staff and the dental setting in as non-threatening a way as possible.
Establishing a positive relationship between your child and us is a fundamental key in your child having a lifetime of dental success.
1.) To provide pleasant introductions to the dental setting and staff, and overall positive dental experience for your child.
2.) To examine your child's oral health
3.) To spark imagination and creativity while cleaning your child's teeth
4.) To perform preventative measures such as applying fluoride, and educating them on proper oral hygiene.
5.) At this time x-rays may or may no be taken based on success of the appointment and cooperation of your child.
Start cleaning your baby's teeth twice a day as soon as the first tooth appears. Until your child is 1 year old, you can use a wet wash cloth or gauze to clean your baby's teeth and gums. At about a 1 year to 18 months of age, you should start using a soft baby toothbrush and a small dab of toothpaste that does not have fluoride in it. This type of toothpaste is safe for your baby to swallow. Once your child is properly expelling their toothpaste you may decide then to give them fluoridated toothpaste.
Our office provides everything you need to achieve the beautiful, natural look you seek. You will receive the care you deserve at our office that is easily accessible with convenient hours.
